If you run too fast, you'll have to walk back a lot...

Really! If, in your enthusiasm, you head too quickly for a goal, you may have to go very far back, only to discover that, in hindsight, that goal wasn't that smart after all.

This refers to the previous blog entry of November 10th. From now on we would do everything via Drupal 8. Under the motto "better turned halfway..." we stopped that...

The problem is that Ubercart v4 is not quite finished yet. It is still in the alpha phase and that is clearly noticeable in use. I was not able to build the webshop in such a way that I like it. Then you start looking for other ways... Is it possible to link BasicCart to the new Mollie modules? No, unfortunately not. Just wait until Ubercart is developed enough for my taste? That could take a long time, and we want to be able to take steps toward dVU/CB. Then what else?

Reading up on the developments surrounding the BasicCart module, I suddenly came across an email from someone who represented "Backdrop". What is that? A few clicks brought me on a very interesting track. Backdrop is a "fork" of Drupal 7. That is, a number of fanatics have built a new CMS based on the Drupal 7 kernel, which looks very much like Drupal, but continues where Drupal 7 left off, so without Drupal 8 taking another path. Many Drupal modules have already been ported to Backdrop, including Ubercart v3. Hip hoy. There is no Mollie module suitable for Backdrop yet, but that will probably come sooner than making the Drupal 8 / Ubercart 4 combo suitable.

In the meantime I have also installed Wordpress again, in combination with the webshop module Woocommerce, then I will delve into it again. The goal remains to be able to activate a new webshop around the turn of the year.
